The Senior High Youth Group meets most Sundays from September
through May. We gather in the NEW Youth Space of the South Church
Community Building located at 6 South State Street from 7:00 – 8:30pm.
Our meetings range from hanging out and making friends to working in
local mission to planning our annual mission trip always discovering
the places where we can make a difference. As the above poster states
the Loft is a safe space, this is where we talk about the real issues
that we are all facing. Senior High Youth on Mission to Chicago April 2008 One of the highlights of our year together is the spring mission trip during April school vacation. Recently we have traveled to such places as Philadelphia, Puerto Rico, and Indian Reservations of the southwest, Harlan, Kentucky, Atlanta, Georgia and Washington D.C. During our week of mission we volunteer with local agencies working to combat homelessness, affordable housing and hunger. Please contact Rev. Carlos for information on the Spring 2010 mission trip! Senior High Youth Group Schedule Sunday January 31
12:30pm (note special time!!) Laser Tag at We will meet at the church and carpool to Sunday, February 7,
7:30PM Coal Country Movie We will meet at Red River Theater for a private screening of the movie Coal Country which highlights Mountain Top Removal and the effects it has on the local community. Please make every effort to arrive prior to 7:30pm!! Sunday, February 14
7-8:30pm -- Youth Space Movie Night! We will meet and watch a fun movie…some time to relax! Bring your favorite movie snack food to share! Sunday, February 21

7-8:30pm -- Youth Space Game night! Bring a game or use one of the many we have in the youth space and bring a snack to share. Sunday, March 14
7-8:30pm -- Youth Space St Patrick’s Day! We will decorate and eat cookies! Think of the most bizarre experience you have had that you feel comfortable sharing with the group. Sunday, March 21

There will be Easter eggs hidden throughout downtown Sunday, April 18 -- 2
events: 10:00am – Commissioning and blessing for those going on the Mission Trip. Come to worship so that the congregation can pray for you and see the faces of those that they have generously supported! 7pm – Parent meeting -- We will meet in the chapel to go over the final details for the trip, give everyone a list of what to pack important contact information and as close an itinerary as possible (our work will greatly depend on need and availability) |
